Celebrate the Greenspace upgrade, Bike Month success, significant fundraising achievements for cancer research, festive initiatives, and reinforces the smoke-free policy, highlighting the QEIIMC Trust's commitment to health, sustainability, and community engagement.
The northern end of Perth Children’s Hospital has recently witnessed a remarkable transformation. What was once a simple grassed area has now evolved into an immersive natural environment, designed to be a sanctuary for patients, visitors, and staff of the QEIIMC Campus. This Greenspace upgrade serves as a nearby escape from the often stressful clinical settings, providing a much-needed respite and contributing to the holistic wellbeing of the hospital community.
The newly upgraded Greenspace is strategically designed to act as a natural extension of the award-winning Kids’ Bridge, seamlessly connecting QEIIMC to the majestic Kings Park. This initiative is not just about aesthetic enhancement but is deeply rooted in respecting the Noongar land upon which QEIIMC is situated. By incorporating traditional and contemporary cultural themes along with Dreamtime stories, the Greenspace fosters a rich, experiential space that cultivates wellbeing and promotes healing through nature.
Officially opened on 16 December, the Greenspace invites everyone on the QEIIMC Campus to explore its natural beauty and find a peaceful spot to unwind. This project not only enhances the physical environment of the hospital but also supports the emotional and psychological wellbeing of everyone who visits or works there.
