Works will soon begin on the planned upgrade to the Multideck Car Park, including a new visitor-only entrance from Hospital Avenue. During this time, a large portion of Car Park 1 will be used as a construction compound, which will temporarily reduce the number of staff parking spaces available.
To help manage this impact, staff members who currently hold a valid parking permit are being invited to voluntarily suspend their permit in exchange for fully subsidised (free) public transport.
The Sustainable Travel Scheme will be available for an initial period until 31 October 2026. Participation is subject to eligibility criteria and limited numbers.
Staff who participate in the Scheme will be able to reapply for a parking permit upon completion of the Sustainable Travel Scheme period. Reapplications will be assessed in accordance with current parking permit processes, and staff will be required to meet all prevailing eligibility and evidence requirements at the time of application.
This fully subsidised public transport option is not open to staff who currently have a WA Health Corporate SmartRider. This scheme is only applicable to staff switching from a parking permit to public transport as the emphasis is on freeing up car parking spaces onsite.
